| Launched by ASD and managed by the ASD Security R&T Committee (formerly known as Security Committee), the Security Mission Industry Groups (SMIGs) served as cost-free expertise panels for the members of ASD (and others by agreement) to exchange views on potential R&T projects to be pursued with the European Commission. | | |
| | More than 200 different experts are registered in the SMIG database, with approximately 10% of them belonging to organisations that are not members of ASD. |
In accordance with the SMIG Terms of Reference, each SMIG was tasked to prepare and coordinate the input to the calls of the EC Preparatory Action in their mission area, and in particular: · to prepare a number of project proposals according to the criteria set out in the EC calls on security; · to make suggestions in order to establish appropriate links with the user community and other key stakeholders that would be essential for identifying the priorities of the mission area they represent. | | |
